Collection for Newton Center for Child Development

Sunday, February 12, will be the final day to bring gifts for Newton Center. Items still needed are colored construction paper, children’s paint, baby wipes, paper towels, and cleaning supplies. These items will be delivered to Newton Center in Chattanooga on Wednesday, February 15.

Let's do Lunch!

We need FPC members to help serve lunch to the homeless at Volunteer Ministry Center on Tuesday, February 28.   It will take less than 3 hours of your time, and transportation to/from downtown can be arranged.  If you can help, please add your name to the VMC sign-up sheet in the narthex.  For more info, contact Dee Robinson at 675-5864 or krobinson001@charter.net.

Men’s Dinner – February 6th

The Men of the Church will gather in the Fellowship Hall on Monday, February 6, at 6 p.m.  Come and enjoy a meal, fellowship, and learn about the world of sports in our community from our guest speaker, John Adams.  John has been with the Knoxville News Sentinel since 1987, having previously worked as a columnist in Jacksonville, Baton Rouge, and Jackson, MS. These are interesting times in the land of “Large Orange” and also with the Titans, the Smokies, and the SEC. Ann Naylor and crew will prepare our homemade meal.  Reservations are needed by February 2.  Attention Interested Visitors

The Winter Inquirer's class Sessions will be held the four Sundays of February. The class will meet in the Fellowship Hall at 9:40 a.m.  This is a way to spend time with our pastors, to find out about the committees and outreach projects here at FPC, and to review a bit of local church and denominational history. If interested, please call the church office at 966-9547. We look forward to meeting you on February 5th.  

Presbyterian Women Circle Meetings

Wednesday Morning Circle - February 8, 10 a.m. in the church library.
Tuesday Morning Circle 1 - February 14, 10 a.m., Ann McAnally will be the hostess and the lesson will be given by Carolyn Neighbors.
Tuesday Morning Circle 2 - February 14, 10 a.m. in the church room A.
Tuesday Evening Circle - February 21, 7 p.m. in the church room A, the lesson will be given by Elizabeth Wilson.

College Student Mailing Address

We need your college students' current mailing address.  Please give your information to the church office by February 8 so that the Pastoral Care Committee may send each student something for Valentine's Day.

Choral Evensong

Please join the University of TN Chamber Singers, under the direction of Dr. Angela Batey, for the Service of Choral Evensong. Evensong is a service based on Evening Prayer from the Book of Common Worship. UT Chamber Singers will travel to Ireland this summer for a choral Cathedral Residency where they will sing several of these services.  Join us Monday, February 6, 7:30 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 414 West Vine Avenue, Knoxville, TN.

Loaves and Fishes 2012 Experience

Come and participate in the Loaves and Fishes 2012 Experience sponsored by the Presbytery of East Tennessee which will be held on March 16-17 at the Clayton Center for the Arts on Maryville College campus.  This year’s theme is Food for the Soul.  There is a table set up in the narthex.  Browse through the program, and then take a registration form to complete or register online at www.presbyteryeasttn.org.  Register by February 1 and receive a 25% discount.  If you have any questions, please contact Ann Naylor (anaylor11432@comcast.net or 927-1318).
