TOGETHER WE SHALL SERVE THE LORD WITH GLADNESS.

For this is the message you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another...

Little children, let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action.

1 John 3:11,18

U.S. Missions

U.S. Mission Trips

Each year, our Middle School and Senior High Youth have travelled to locations in the United States on mission trips. In 2009 they went to urban mission camps in Mobile, AL and Bayou la Batie, AL.  This year our Sr. High youth traveled to Belize.

Morgan-Scott County Project

The Morgan Scott County Project exists to identify specific needs and initiate programs to help the poor, elderly, and disabled in this rural part of Appalachia. Morgan Scott is also involved in providing food, clothing, and other necessities, especially in emergencies.  The focus of the Morgan Scott Project is not simply to give handouts, but to help area residents establish a better life for themselves. Area residents can see the love and compassion of Christ in action through this mission.

Coalition for Appalachian Ministry

The purpose of CAM, is to make a positive impact wherever the Reformed tradition and Appalachian culture come together. It does this by networking with church and community to provide education and volunteer opportunities.

Sunset Gap Community Center

The Sunset Gap Community Center is the focal point for community outreach in this impoverished community.  The Center offers teaching, training, and service programs to the residents.  The Community Center also supports a Day Care Center, Thrift Store,  and Food Pantry.

Farragut Presbyterian’s support of this vital ministry includes financial support in addition to:

  • The Back-to-School Program supports children with backpacks, school supplies, clothing, and a winter coat.
  • The Christmas Store is stocked for residents to purchase gifts for their families.
  • The Angel Tree is used to fullfil children’s Christmas wishes
  • Donations drives are held to collect clothing, furniture and other household items to support the community Thrift Store
