Paul urged the Ephesians to “put on the whole armor of God,” including the “belt of truth,” “breastplate of righteousness,” “shield of faith,” “helmet of salvation,” and the “sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”
In Confirmation Class, six young people in our congregation are learning to “put on armor.” This class provides a systematic overview of the Presbyterian faith . This is not an instruction manual, but a framework for exploring and developing their own personal faith.
Being Christian is not part of some natural progression that comes to all “good” people. Likewise, confirmation is not a rite of passage in the church or a coming of age. It is a time for learning, asking questions, and developing relationships. The |

confirmation curriculum includes specific lessons on: · Being a Christian · Being Presbyterian · The Reformation · Faith · Salvation · Worship · Prayer · The Sacraments · The Bible · God · Jesus Christ · The Holy Spirit · Sin · Social Justice Of course, the students in this class have been exposed to these subjects for years.
