Children’s
Church
You
see it listed in the bulletin almost every Sunday. After Rev. Nelson does
his “Word with the Wise”, children from Kindergarten to Grade 2 are
invited to join a group of adults for “Children’s Church.”
But—what
is Children’s Church?
First,
this is what it is not; it’s not “babysitting”—the church
provides that for our younger members.
Children’s
Church is just what it says—we try to teach the children all the parts
of the regular service in a more relaxed setting. We go through a
“mini” service where we sing, pray, learn the Lord’s Prayer, The
Creed, and many other parts of the service, so the children may
participate freely when they stay for church and communion of First
Sundays. We also have a story time or “mini” sermon.
Then,
we learn Bible verses, which become more difficult as the children grow.
Here, they have a banner (or sash) on which they earn pins and
stickers, as they learn their verses.
So
please, take advantage of this opportunity—and lend us your children
each 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Sunday!
