FPC cares about our youngest members! Your child’s safety and comfort are our priorities. You will find our nurseries are well-staffed, clean, safe, and stocked with educational toys. All our nursery staff (regular teachers and substitutes) have been background and reference-checked for your peace of mind.
Nursery care is available for infants and preschoolers on Sunday mornings 8:15-12:30 in the education wing. We have a mimimum adult/child ratio of 1:5, although typically it is much higher, and there are always at least 2 adults present. The Sunday morning teachers are consistent from week-to-week. During the 11:00 service, children ages 2-5 have the opportunity to go to as a group into the worship service to hear the scripture readings and the children’s sermon. The children’s director and/or nursery teachers escort the children from the nursery to the sanctuary and back at the appropriate times during the service. This is an excellent opportunity for young children to experience part of the worship service in a positive way. Parents can always request that their children stay in the nursery during this time (there is always a teacher in the nursery). Because Farragut Presbyterian Church is committed to a family-friendly worship service, children are always welcome to stay in the worship service with their families!
The nursery is also regularly staffed on Sunday evenings (5:45-7:30) during Koinonia Adult Fellowship for children too young to attend the Kids’ Club program meeting during that time.
Free childcare for children of all ages is provided during ZUMBA Fitness classes (Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays 3:30-4:45).
Childcare is provided for meetings, fellowship events, and any other church activities upon request. For more information or to request nursery care for your meeting or event, please contact Katina Sharp, Director of Children’s and Youth Ministries, at 865-742-2292 or KatinaSharp@aol.com.
